Pin It Tuesday: Happy Birthday Hubby

Well, I still haven’t got the hang of Pinterest yet.  I keep trying to figure it out, but have a hard time getting my pictures to load right.  But I still wanted to take the opportunity to link up with my friend Lolo from Crazy About My Baybah.

Crazy About My Baybah

And what better excuse then Hubby’s birthday!

Today, Daddy Head turns 27!  That means he is finally as old as me ;)   And I want to celebrate that man who no only loves me for me, but has stood by my side through some pretty shaky times!  It says a lot about a person when they are firm as stone through losing your home, a serious illness over a child and then a diagnosis that shocks your world!  But that is why God gave me my husband.

Nathaniel Cherry, I love you!

So here are a few pictures that I pinned on my Pin It Tuesday Board to share with you to celebrate his birthday.  Let me know what you think.

And, if any of you knows how to add that little pin it bookmarklet to Internet Explorer, the non mac version, please let me know!  I think that would solve a lot of my issues!

Tell Us Something Good: I’m on Vacation!

Once again, I am linking up with The Life of Rylie and Angelica’s Awesome Adventures to Tell You Something Good.

Angelica's Awesome Adventures

I am so excited to share that as you read this, I am on vacation.  So much so, I am not even sure I will be linking this post up, but I sure will try.

Daddy Head encouraged me to truly take a vacation, which means as little blog time as possible.  And I am honoring that request.  Because, honestly, I need the break.

So, if I’m not around as much for the next two weeks (since I am having two vacations in a row, one without Daddy Head) that is because I need the break!  And I am taking it.

Here’s to some relaxation and me time.

Tell Us Something Good: Art of Marriage

Time to link up with Tell Us Something Good over at The Life of Rylie and Angelica’s Awesome Adventures!

Angelica's Awesome Adventures

This past weekend, Daddy Head and I went through a marriage conference at our church. It was a wonderful time spent reconnecting after a few hard years in our marriage.

The conference took place Friday night and Saturday until 4pm.  We watched 6 videos and spent time doing different assignments to help strengthen our marriage.  Lets face it, we had several hours with Bear being baby sat and Lion even went to the nursery several times so Daddy Head and I could both focus.

The real good that came out of the conference was realizing that while we have our issues at times, our marriage is so strong, by the grace of God!  We have been through so much as a young couple.  We will be married 4 years this coming August, and our marriage is so much closer and stronger today than it was 3 years ago.

We have lost our home to a storm, had two major sicknesses come to our daughter and then had a special needs son.  And I have never once been afraid my husband would leave in the midst of the trials!  Our marriage is strong, and I am so grateful to God for that!

This conference comes from Family Life and I would encourage you married couples to try to find one of their Weekend to Remember’s in your area.  They are so powerful and I know that your marriage will be so much stronger because of it.

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post.  I received nothing in return for writing it.  I just love Family Life and wanted to share them with you!

Tell Us Something Good: Family Friday

friday link ups

I decided to link up with The Life of Rylie and Angelica’s Awesome Adventures again this week for Tell Us Something Good.  I really really like this meme and hope to link up every week.  Who doesn’t like to share good news!

Angelica's Awesome Adventures

This week, I am so happy to share with you my new meme I will be starting this Friday.

Back at the beginning of the year, I made it one of my challenges to start up a meme.  I originally had in mind to do a fashion link up, but seeing as how I am one of the most unfashionable people I know, that fizzled out.  (If you, by chance, are fasionable and you want to start up this meme, I have a button I could sell you ;)

Then, a few weeks back, I was talking to my biological father on the phone, catching up after a few storms we had had in the area.  Whenever storms come our way, our family is really good about checking on us, after the May 8th storm in 2009, that is.

He told me how much he missed me talking about the kids.  Since I don’t see him as much, he uses my blog as a way to keep up to date on what new things the kids are doing.  Then it hit me!

Why not start a weekly post for him.  That way he knows for sure what day I will be talking about the kids!  Of course, I will talk about Lion and Bear other days, too, but it would be Friday’s main focus to share some tidbit or picture of their newests skills.

And why not offer it to my readers and fellow bloggers as well.

So, Family Friday was born.

friday link ups

So, starting this Friday, come on over to Mommy Head Adventures and link up with me a story about what is going on in your family!  It is that simple.  It doesn’t have to be written on Friday, that is just the day I will make the link up live!

So, tell me, what do you think?  Would you like to join me?
