Mommy Head Says: Canceling the Mold Show in My Bathroom {Tilex}

If there is one thing that grosses me out more than any other thing, besides people talking with their mouth full of food, it is mold!  I don’t like to see hair growing on areas where it doesn’t belong, like food!

But this really goes for my bathroom.

I don’t like to look a the bottom of my shower door and see the little greenish, black spots.  This is especially true when we have to do the “quick, get ready” routine of taking a shower with Bear.

Why?

Because she often times will sit down on the floor of the shower.  The last thing I want to have happen is for her to start messing with the doors and touching the filth.

Sadly, I don’t always do the things I know I should do in order to ensure that mold doesn’t grow in my bathroom.  I should turn on the overhead fan in order to keep the humidity down.  I could also open a window, but with it being winter, who wants to do that?!

But one thing I can do is to keep a bottle of Tilex® Mold Stain & Mildew Stain Remover on the top shelf of my shower.  This way, it is out of reach of the kids, but easily accessible for Daddy Head and I to do a quick clean of the base of our shower before we get out.  Keep it shiny and clean!

Tilex® has created this whole new line of mold & mildew remover, and to celebrate, they are having a contest.  If you head over to their Facebook page, you can enter to win one of three 40″ flat screen televisions or one of ten Netflix subscriptions, which is personally my favorite.  And while you are there, take the time to learn a little about their new line of products designed to keep mold and mildew a thing of the past in your bathroom!

It is super simple to enter!  Just check out their Facebook page.  Also, you can get an extra entry for every friend you invite.  You can get a head start by liking their page here!

And in the spirit of fun and excitement, why not check out this silly video featuring Sonny Mold and Frankie Mildew.  You won’t be sorry :)

So what are you waiting for? Head on over to the Tilex Facebook page and enter for your chance to win!

Make Your Home a Home: Review of Home-Ec 101 by Heather Solos

 Home Ec 101

Looking for a book to help you with your spring cleaning and organizing?  Look no further than Home-Ec 101 by Heather Solos.  Full of practical advice and tips to help even the experienced homemaker get their home in tip top shape.

Just like Heather’s site, this book is divided into 4 sections: clean it, wash it, fix it and cook it.  With helpful advice on how to do everything from stain removal to fixing your walls, this book is sure to deliver a wealth of information on how to make your home a home.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to review a chapter of this incredible book.  Chapter 20 is on meal planning.  They must have known that I needed help in this area!

Solos encourages the beginner to take 2 weeks to begin to make the habit of meal planning.  She gives people like me permission to start with convenience foods in order to help ease into the helpful task.  Then she gives you step by step instructions on how to make meal planning even more fun.  She even includes recipes!

I certainly recommend this book to the beginning homemaker as well as the experienced.  Goodness, I plan to buy it for wedding gifts!  I wish someone would have bought it for me when I got married almost 4 years ago.

Want to buy it?  It is available on both Amazon here and Barnes and Noble here.

Disclaimer: I was given a digital copy of Chapter 20 from Home-Ec 101 in exchange for this review.  All opinions are 100% my own.
