Birthday Cake Fail – Family Fun Friday

I can hardly believe it but Bear will be 4 on March 11.  I am the mommy of a 4 year old!  It is almost too much to even type.

This year, I wanted to do something really special for her.  She has come so far and I wanted her to know that mommy really loves her.

So I baked her cake.

The plan was to make a three tiered cake where the bottom was round and the top two tiers were star shaped.  She wanted a purple cake so the bottom layer was going to be chocolate and the top two would be white cake dyed purple.

But I guess I am not as good of a baker as I used to be since all three layers fell apart.

The chocolate layer was fixable as well as one of the stars.  The bad one however went to the trash.

Good thing she is 4 and doesn’t care.  And icing does wonders of hiding mistakes.

The top layer is actually purple, just so you know.  Bear wanted a purple cake.  And the ponies were for her cowgirl party.
