Sick Children, a Cold and Disappointment – Weekly Weigh In Link Up – January 30

weekly weigh in

Well, this past weekend was terrible.  Daddy Head was out of town dealing with issues in Richmond and I was holding up the fort with 3 sick kiddies.  Each of them had a terrible head cold.  Snot, nose drops and poppy diapers were my lot in life.

And I caught their cold.

When Daddy Head leaves town, I go into survival mode.  It isn’t like there is much different, but the fact that he isn’t a phone call away keeps me from relaxing.  Add that to the fact that I had a cold, and, well, I didn’t practice much self-control in eating.

Because of that, the scale was up this week:

Only about 2 1/2 pounds, but it was enough to make me super disappointed.  I have been working so hard, and one bum weekend knocks me off my progress.

But it is making me more determined to get myself back on track and lose more.  I want to be able to fluctuate a few pounds and not become unhealthy again.  I can do this!

And even though this weekend coming up will be a traveling weekend for me, I will stick to my last few runs before my half-marathon!  Only a week and a half away.  Here is my schedule:

  • Thursday: 8 mile run
  • Friday: Travel day
  • Saturday: 3 mile run
  • Sunday: Rest Day
  • Monday: 3 mile run
  • Tuesday: Body Weight or Pilates
  • Wednesday: 3 mile run

What is on your workout schedule?  What kind of encouragement can I be to you?

So sorry the sickies got you guys too! I hope you are all having a better week this week. And don’t worry about those two pounds…just get back into your routine and they’ll come right back off. Don’t let it get you down because you’re doing so well. Keep it up!

Your workout schedule would just about kill me this week! The scale and I can be on quite unfriendly terms at times too! Why doesn’t the scale show up lower numbers after basically killing ourselves just so that it will be nice to us?! This week I am in week four of my c25k. Run 3 minutes, walk 90 seconds, run 5 minutes, walk 3 minutes, or something insane like that… then start all over again. I hope to get to the point in running where you are now!

Brenda, you can do it! I didn’t start doing what I am doing now. I had to take baby steps. And I totally recommend C25K. So proud of you. Please keep me up to date on what you are doing!
