When I first came to a salvation relationship with Jesus Christ, one of the first scriptures that my pastor’s wife shared with me has been one of the key verses that I have based my life upon.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. – Romans 12:2
I know that when this verse was first shared with me it was so that I would not keep living my life as I used to. It was such a great platform to begin my journey with Jesus, especially here recently as I have wagged war on insecurity.
In order to keep from living life the way that everyone else does, I have to purposefully change what I think about. This is called renewing my mind.
God’s good and acceptable and perfect will is not to be stuck in insecurity. The world plays in insecurity. That is why girls from a young age pick on each other. Think about what your mom told you when you were younger. When others make fun of you, they are trying to cover up their own insecurity and hurt.
So, what do you do?
The key part is transforming your mind by renewing it, and renewing it with the word of God. Think back to when I started this series. The Word of God is what changes us.
And tomorrow, I will share more on how that is working for me.
