What a journey we have been on these last few days! I have so enjoyed writing about my journey of fasting and overcoming insecurity. And now I am super excited to be sharing the true essence of what started it all.
In John Bevere’s book, Relentless, he spends all of chapter 2 preparing us to understand grace. Grace is not just God’s forgiveness of sins, but it is also His empowerment to overcome life’s obstacles and to rule and reign in this life. It was so good to read this refresher on grace, but it was his talk about 1 Corinthians 12 that changed my life. I hope I can do a good job of explaining this.
My head is attached to my body. My head is just as much Mommy Head as my body is. If you just saw my legs, it would still be me. My legs are Mommy Head. My head is Mommy Head.
So, if Jesus is the head of the body, and we are His body, doesn’t that make us Him? You cannot cut off the head and the body still live. They must be attached to be effective and get anything done!
Are you getting this?
If you want to be free from insecurity, you have to recognize who you are! And if you are born again, if you are a follower of Jesus, you are just like Him. And I can assure you that He doesn’t struggle with insecurity. He is God, the very essence of security!
When I realized that I am just like Jesus, I finally understood that I didn’t need to struggle with insecurity anymore. That was really what brought on the great idea of an insecurity fast.
Maybe you are still skeptical. Maybe you still don’t believe me. Well, tomorrow I am going to give you a whole list of scriptures that further explain this point. That means no words from me, just the Word of God! (And since it is Sunday, what better thing is there than to focus on the Word of God.)
How about you? Do you believe me? Are you finding yourself any closer to freedom?
