Today I was setting lunch out for Bear and Lion a little early since I knew we had a tight turn around in our schedule. You see, today was Aunt Hannah and Uncle Micah’s first Cross Country race of the season.
I explained to Bear that I needed her to eat her lunch quickly so we could take our naps soon. We would be heading out to watch Hannah and Micah and she needed her rest.
About 5 minutes later, she came to me looking very concerned and speaking some gibberish. She really is talking so much more and a lot clearer, too.
When I finally realized she was asking me about Hannah running, I assured her that Hannah would be fine and that we will get to cheer her on. The proceeded the whole list of Daddy Head’s 9 siblings and who would be there. I told her all that I knew would be there and she quickly celebrated.
The next thing that happened still makes me chuckle. Bear began to get down like she was in the starting blocks of a sprint and say, “Ready, Set, Go!” before taking off as fast as she could across the kitchen.
I guess she thought she was running today as well. Thanks to Uncle Ethan and the 2012 Summer Olympics, it looks like I have a future running star on my hands!
