Guidance for the First Year: mommy Md Guide {review & Giveaway}

I remember when I was pregnant with Bear, I went out and looked for every book on pregnancy I could find.  In my searching, I came across several books on baby’s first year, so I bought one.  When she was born, I would skim the pages and be filled with awe and wonder at what milestones she would accomplish.

When she began having Infantile Spasms, I put the book away as we awaited Lion’s arrival.  I knew she would not follow that guideline, so I didn’t want to burden myself with the pressure.  When Lion joined us with his extra chromosome, I gave the book to my sister-in-law.  He wouldn’t follow the book either.

Fast forward 22 1/2 months and Banana comes.  After having him tested for any genetic issues and getting a clear bill of health, I was ready for a book.  Not that I needed one Winking smile.

And through it all, I found the perfect book for our always busy family:

Your Baby's First Year

The Mommy MD Guide to Your Baby’s First Year was the perfect addition to my library of books.  Filled with over 900 tips from 70 doctors who are also mothers, you are sure to find the help that you need.  Hitting topics from breastfeeding to sleeping, medicine to sun care, there is a wealth of information from these awesome mommy doctors that will get you through just about every situation you may face.

I received my copy of Your Baby’s First Year right before going on a week trip with our youth group.  I put it in the front seat of my van and that is where it is.  Doing weekly trips to St. Louis, I always having something informative and fun to read.

I love the format of the book.  Broken up into 4 quarters, and from there into months, I found it easy to navigate for the info I wanted to know.  Each month chapter starts out with an overview of what to typically expect for the month and then it is followed by the amazing tips provided by the mommy doctors.  I loved how I could look through and find others who understood right where I was and get expert advice without having to bother my pediatrician.

The Mommy MD Guide to Your Baby’s First Year is available on their website for $13.45.  You can also find them on Twitter and Facebook

    My babys nickname is “Bubby” but he’s not exactly a baby anymore – he’s 3 and a half. But a girlfriend of mine is soon to be having her first and I’d love to give her this book!
