It may be 4th of July, but that doesn’t mean I won’t weigh in. I have come to really look forward to Wednesday mornings and seeing my progress.
This week, I was a little scared that I might show a gain. You see, since I reach my first 10 lbs weight loss goal, my reward was dessert on our date night. I enjoyed every bite, don’t get me wrong. I just thought it might cause a little gain or maybe just no lose.
This week, the scale showed:
I was so excited to see 2 lbs down! Total shocker but a good one. Now, lets keep it under control for holiday eating.
If there is one thing I am learning while on my weight loss journey, it is the importance of watching what I eat. Just because it is a holiday doesn’t mean I am can throw all progress out the window. I must be smart.
One way I have found to do that is with a food diary. I must be honest and say that I have never been very successful with a food diary. I just don’t think to write what I eat down, and I hate measuring.
But, for lasting success, I know I need to get over this.
The Gunnar Challenge makes this super simple with their online food diary. Just about every food is listed. I tried it out a few times and I was so surprised at the amount of calories in the foods I was eating.
This is why food diaries are so good
So, what are you doing for your 4th of July celebrations? If you are trying to lose weight, what are some tricks to keep your eating under control?
