When I made my decision to read through the entire Bible in 90 days, I really didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I knew I had a stirring in my heart to read and go deeper, but I didn’t realize exactly how much reading I would be doing.
Don’t get me wrong! I am so grateful that I am using my summer to grow and go deeper, it just seems that it almost bogs me down. But then, when I come across certain scriptures that speak to the deepest parts of my spirit and soul, I am reminded about how worth it this really is.
Today, I want to share with you 10 of my favorites that I have came across so far as I have read up through part of 1 Samuel. And, hopefully, I will get completely caught up today, if housework and my boys will let me
1. Genesis 21:22
“Then Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there called on the name of the Lord, the Everlasting God.”
2. Exodus 14:13
“And Moses said to the people, Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.”
3. Exodus 15:26
“and said, If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statues, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”
4. Exodus 23:25, 26
“So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless you bread and your water. And I will take sickenss away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.”
5. Exodus 33:11
“So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.”
6. Exodus 36:5-7
“and they spoke to Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work which the Lord commanded us to do. So Moses gave a commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman do any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. And the people were restrained from bringing, for the material they had was sufficient for all the work to be done indeed too much.”
7. Numbers 6:24-26
“The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countance upon you, and give you peace.”
8. Numbers 23:19
“God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”
9. Deuteronomy 6:4-6
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.”
10. Ruth 1:16, 17
“But Ruth said: Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; for wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge, your people shall be my people, and your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.”
There you have it! A small sampling of my favorite so far. There were so many, I had to pick and choose.
What is encouraging you this summer?

Beautiful verses! Reading the Bible in 90 days is a challenge, but a true blessing. I completed the challenge at the beginning of the year, about March. My way to record my reactions was to do an emphasis on each chapter. I finished reading within my 90 days, but I honestly still haven’t finished the summaries. That was where I got bogged down. It is a way to really reach out to God, the reading really blessed me. I pray for you and this beautiful journey you are on.

Beautiful choices! Several are some of my favorites.
We had #10 read at our wedding, and our wedding invitations were based on the verse. I love that one.
