Mommy Head Says: Mat Kearney’s Young Love

I love music!  Especially music that carries a message and is uplifting.  And that is exactly what comes from Mat Kearney and his new album, Young Love.

I have always been a Mat Kearney fan.  His first two albums were absolutely incredible.  One of my favorite songs by him will always be Closer to Love.  So when I was given the opportunity to review his new album, I jumped at the chance.

Kearney absolutely delivered on this one.  With foot tapping beats and catchy lyrics, I have been known to walk around singing a few of his new tunes.

Hey Mama, the debut track from this album was a love song he wrote to chronicle how he and his wife met.  I love the line where he says, “Hey lover, don’t want no other finger for my ring.”  I could connect with this so much, because that is how it was for me and Daddy Head.

My other favorite song on the album was Down.  It reminded me so much of the work that my family and I do with our church and Dream Center.  Everyone is looking for something.  And we need to show them that we have it.
