The Dinner that Failed

I thought long and hard about many things yesterday.  I am in the process of getting my blog redesigned and spent many hours thinking about what concept I wanted.  I also had meetings and errands to run which took a lot of my energy.  Bear hurt herself and Lion cried so hard he popped blood vessels all over his face.  It was a long day.

But one thing I was not concerned about was dinner.  I have been working very hard at meal planning (#3 on my list of challenges for the year).  Since we are participating in the church fast this year, it has been interesting coming up with veggie meals for Daddy Head that allowed for some sort of extra protein for Bear and I.  I have really enjoyed going through cookbooks and finding different recipes to try.  So far, I have enjoyed my selections and have had a lot of fun cooking for my family.

I reached today’s plan.  My plan gave me this.

dinner flop

It was Asian Broccoli.  But I didn’t get enough broccoli so I used the cauliflower that I had.  I thought for sure it would all be okay.  After all, a lot of the Asian dishes I eat have a variety of veggies in them.  So, surely it would be alright.

And we hated it.

If you like soy sauce, you might like it, but wow!  It was crazy gross.  To us anyway.  Therefore, I will spare you the recipe.  If you are really adventurous, and want to try it, you can email me.

All in all, I would say that the mission itself was okay.  I was able to find a dinner that we didn’t like.  How about that for looking at the bright side…

Have you cooked anything that flopped lately?  Care to share?

  2. I've had more than my share of cooking disasters. I once cooked pork chops that were burnt on the outside and raw on the inside! That takes talent :)

  3. Oh no! That's never fun. I hope you find something better soon! :)
