Mommy Head Says: Giveback.org: The Ultimate Way to Give This Year

If any of you are are like me, you love to give gifts.  My parents taught me growing up that it is more blessed to give than receive.  That is why I go out of my way for birthdays to give the best gifts.  And Christmas…well, just ask my husband!  We have a budget for a reason, you know.

Well, this year has been a big year on many fronts.  Between Bear’s health challenges and health victories, the birth of Lion and just some other transitions, there hasn’t been as much to go around.  God has provided in many ways which has allowed us to still buy gifts for our family, and we are grateful.

Recently, I joined a blogging network called One2One.  It has been a great opportunity to learn new things that are going on in the blogging community.  I haven’t been involved long enough to be involved in a lot of their projects, but from what I can tell, you can get some pretty neat stuff and tell others about it!  And, as you know, I love to do that.

Well, yesterday I came across a project that they have for an organization called Giveback.org.  I dug a little deeper, went to the website and joined.  Let me tell you, I wish I had known about this site BEFORE I did my Christmas shopping.

Giveback.org is an organization that allows you to deposit money on their site and then give it to the charity, or charities, of your choice.  It is a great place to put all of your year-end giving and then split it up.  No multiple check writing, no multiple websites to visit.  It is all in one convenient place for you.  They even give you $5 to start up.

It gets better!  If you go through their online shopping link, you can earn up to 15% back from your purchases to give to the charities of your choice!  And if you buy gifts online, it is like giving the ultimate gift to those you love.  Just about every store you can think of is involved: GAP, Toys R Us, even Wal-Mart.

So, if you have any Christmas shopping left, I encourage you to head over to Giveback.org right now and sign up.  You wont be sorry.  Check out this widget here to see how it works.  And then, get shopping!
