This past weekend was so very full of memories! Lion’s first airplane, my first view of the ocean in person and one huge miracle.
Friday morning on the 12th started earlier than most. Getting up at 3:45am is a bit early for this Mommy Head. Sheer adrenaline got me through the day, that is for sure. I woke up, took a shower and got ready for the airplane trip to Anaheim, CA. Lion woke up long enough to be changed and fed before the 2 1/2 hr trip to the airport. We got through security with only one hiccup (the lady forgot to add infant in arms to my ticket) and boarded the jet. Lion nursed and then slept, on both airplane trips. Everyone around me commented on how well he did and how easy he was to travel with.
We landed in Anaheim, got our car and proceeded to our hotel. The landscape was amazing. Palm trees and views of the mountains in the distance. What more could one ask for?
We got to the hotel, freshened up and then headed to the church that the ATF event was held at. Since Lion and I were there for support to my MIL and SIL, we geared up with baby carrier and stroller. My throat was starting to hurt, as was my head, so I figured I might be coming down with a cold. No biggie. I have dealt with that before.
The next morning turned out to be not so good. After being awake for 20+ hrs the day before, some sleep should do a body good. Only, in my case, I guess I developed a strange sickness, one that would take me out for the rest of the day. I went to the church to help but quickly had to make my way back to the hotel. Who wants to spend their time in CA hugging the toliet? Trust me, it wasnt fun.
Lion settled in nicely next to me in the hotel bed. He napped some, allowing me to rest, but I was having a hard time keeping anything down, including water. Not a good thing when you are a nursing mom. Around 4pm I knew I was in trouble so I called Daddy Head up. In between my moans, I told him that I wasnt feeling so good. He called my MIL and told her to check on me and make sure I didnt need to go to the hospital. When she showed up, it didnt look so good.
She took Lion, got me some 7up and then left me to rest. I laid there, sure that a trip to the emergency room was on the horizon. Little did I know that 4 of the boys from my youth back home were in some intense prayer for me. And it worked. What appeared to maybe be a case of the flu suddenly went away! I sat up in my bed at about 9:15pm and said I felt fine. So fine, in fact, that I took my MIL to pick up Kalyn Head and head to Sonic for some late night food.
The next day our sight-seeing plans were in place. We went to the beach, went shopping and at in a little restaurant over the ocean. So perfect! My trip to Anaheim was success! That is, until we were kicked off our plane, but no big deal. And extra night, all expenses paid on Delta isnt to shabby. I made it home and all is good. Besides, that is what memory maker trips are for
And, just so you know, Lion did find on the way home too.
