Babbling baby, successful hair cut

This past week, I found myself well overdue for a new hair cut. The only thing hindering me was a little baby boy who loves to be held and look at faces. This is new to me because Bear never really did that for me. I figured if I fed Lion prior to leaving, maybe he would sleep or at least be quiet.

Well, I fed the boy and loaded him in the car for my 3pm appointment at the salon I go to. We arrived just in time for me to breeze in and sit in the chair. Lion was awake and looking bright eyed and bushy tailed. I thought maybe, just maybe he will be happy. That lasted enough time for her to brush our my own mane of hair.

As Lion began to fuss, I realized just how blessed I was to be going to a salon that was next door to where I used to live. This means the the owner was good friends of our family and someone I completely trust. Not to mention, she had a grandbaby of her own that has Down syndrome. My hair stylist quickly called her mom in (yes, her mom owns the shop). She picked Lion up and just began talking. I was able to sit back and relax while my hair was cut.

The best part…Lion talked the whole hour I was there. Literally. He never stopped. He held an entire conversation with the salon owner and she was as shocked as I was. She told me that her grandbaby never really did that.

What a blessing to hear from someone else how precious the sounds I was hearing were. I mean, like I said, we missed out on that with Bear. It could have been because of the seizures, or maybe it was just her personality. Either way, Lion is sure making up for it and it brings so much joy to my heart.

So, my little boy stole the hearts of the ladies in the salon and I got a great hair cut out of the deal. Really, what more could I ask for?
